  88. A. INTRODUCTION
  89.  
  90. CDPlayer(TM) is an audio CD playing program for Windows which provides all the
  91. functions associated with a normal CD player, together with the ability to
  92. catalogue and search your CD collection.

  119. ADDENDUM
  120.  
  121. The following changes have been made in revision 3.3 of CDPlayer.
  122.  
  123. 1       Custom Programme Selection
  124.  
  125.         A button is included on the full handset to allow you to select a
  126.         custom programme using pick lists.
  127.  
  128.         Click on the button, or select 'Control' followed by 'Custom
  129.         programme...' from the menu bar, and a dialog box will be displayed
  130.         showing two lists:
  131.  
  132.                 a       Tracks on disc
  133.                 b       Custom programme.
  134.  
  135.         A note of the running time for the current custom programme is also
  136.         shown.
  137.  
  138.         To add a track to the end of the list selected tracks, simply double
  139.         click on the track name in the track list.  Double clicking on a track
  140.         title in the custom programme list removes the track from the
  141.         programme.  As you make changes to the selected items the running
  142.         time of the custom programme is updated.
  143.  
  144.         When you are happy with your selections, click on OK and it will be
  145.         saved.  If you do not wish to store your selection click on Cancel and
  146.         the original list will be left unchanged.
  147.  
  148. 2       Fit tracks to time
  149.  
  150.         This facility allows you to make a selection of the number of tracks
  151.         which will fit within a specified time period.  This can be very
  152.         useful when you wish to record from CDs.
  153.  
  154.         Select 'Control' followed by 'Fit tracks to time...' from the menu bar
  155.         of the full handset.  The system will ask you to enter the number of
  156.         minutes of music you require - it will offer a default of 45.
  157.  
  158.         Enter a number between 1 and 80 and click on OK.  If you do not wish
  159.         to proceed clicking on Cancel will return you to the handset.
  160.  
  161.         The system will see how many tracks it can fit in the time entered and
  162.         display a message box with the number of tracks and the playing time.
  163.         If you wish to continue click on Yes and the tracks selected will be
  164.         placed in the Custom Program field of the disc record and you will be
  165.         presented with the Custom Program pick list to allow you to make
  166.         adjustments to the list if you wish.  Clicking on No will return you
  167.         to the handset without changing the existing programme.

  169.         If you wish you can now make changes to the tracks selected and then
  170.         click on OK to return to the handset.

  172.         To play the music fitting to the time entered, select Mode and Custom,
  173.         then Play.

  175. 3       Support for multiple CD ROM drives
  176.  
  177.         CDPlayer for Windows allows you to select which CD ROM you wish to use
  178.         when you have more than one in your system.  On first running
  179.         CDPlayer, it will default to the first drive installed, however, once
  180.         you change the drive it will remember your changes and use your
  181.         selected drive on subsequent accesses.

  183.         To select a drive, proceed as follows:
  184.  
  185.         a       Select 'File' then 'Select CD ROM drive...' from the menu bar.
  186.  
  187.         b       A dialog box will appear in which will be listed the drives
  188.                 available to you.
  189.  
  190.         c       Select the drive to be used, either by double clicking on the
  191.                 drive letter, or clicking on it once and then on OK, and the
  192.                 drive will be selected.
  193.  
  194.         If, after calling up the dialog box you decide that you do not wish to
  195.         continue, simply click on Cancel.

  202. B. BASIC OPERATIONS

  204. 1   Run CDPlayer
  205.  
  206.     You may either run CDPlayer by clicking on the CD icon in the Jupiter
  207.     program group, or by using the Run program option provided in the File
  208.     menu of the program manager.  To use the latter method, click on File and
  209.     then Run...  and enter:
  210.  
  211.           C:\CDPLAYER\PLAYER        <Enter>
  212.  
  213.     substituting a different drive and path if you have installed CDPlayer
  214.     elsewhere.
  215.  
  216.     The handset will be displayed and the system will interrogate the first CD
  217.     drive to see if a disc is loaded and if it is playing --- on most systems
  218.     play will not be interrupted by running CDPlayer.  If a disc is found the
  219.     information relating to the disc will be loaded and the handset will
  220.     display information which is relevant to it.  If no disc is found in the
  221.     first drive, the system will show an error status in the handset display.
  222.     This error status will disappear as soon as a disc is inserted into the
  223.     drive.  You may change the CD at any time without reloading CDPlayer.  The
  224.     program will register that you have switched discs and load the
  225.     information relevant to the new disc.

  227.     You may minimize the program at any time.  The CD icon will be displayed
